Hi everyone
Can someone enlighten me please... Am new to this so don't know what to expect. Can you help???
My main probs last year when diagnosed with ra were:-
High 'Rheumatoid Factor'/ positive 'anti ccp' results.
Swollen finger joint on left hand.
3 (felt broken) toes + big toe/ bunion area on left foot .
Big toe/bunion area on right foot.
Swollen ankles.
Painful to walk and felt so fatiguedThere are probably things I have forgotten to add above that may be important so please ask questions if you need to know any more info ...
I take 15mg Mtx weekly, folic acid 5mg next day, and plaquenil 2 x daily now, amongst others & these have bought down the swellings and put my finger and 3 toes in remission(my words as I don't have the pain & swelling in them now).
Recently, the big toe joint/bunion area on the left foot feels spongy and is very slightly swollen, mildly warm, but not hot or red inflamed. When I showed this to my gp and to the rheumy nurse, they both said that my bloods/inflamatory markers were excellent now, and kind of dismiss this spongy swelling...
I have read on the internet that you can still have active ra even though the bloods come back as normal...
What I want to know is should I be worried about it and make sure i get treatment for this spongy toe joint or is my gp & rheumy nurse right??? sort of put up with it???
Please put my mind at rest...
